Today’s walk was in aid of The Cockermouth Mountain Rescue in an event arranged by the The Wainwright Society.

The event was a challenge based on the 95 routes of ascent depicted in A. Wainwright’s Sixth Pictorial Guide ‘The North Western Fells’.

My chosen route was Ascent No. 92 - Whiteside form Lanthwaite Green

Slightly higher now and the view from half way up Whin Ben includes Mellbreak, Blake Fell, Gavel Fell with Low Fell and Fellbarrow to the right
