Not part of the walk but a quick photo-stop on the Whinlatter Road for this panoramic view which includes the edge of Whinlatter Forest, Bassenthwaite Lake, Binsey and the Skiddaw range.

Little effort is needed to reach the highest point on the path above Holme Wood but the reward is big when the weather is clear.
