A first look back to Birkhouse Moor and Sheffield Pike from the first part of the walk up to Boredale Hause

Height is quickly gained and the views behind become more extensive

 

At Boredale Hause the panoramic view of The Eastern Fells dominates

 

Several pockets of deep snow still remain at mid-height............................

 

…………………….but it looks like the higher fells have had another light dusting overnight

 

Eventually the slog up Place Fell’s Steel Edge offers an extensive view northwestwards towards the Northern Pennines

 

Place Fell summit now in view together with Hetty and Violet who continue to run off their seemingly endless energy

An clear and excellent view across the small summit cairn includes the whole of the Helvellyn range
