Route Map

Looking south from the shore at Armboth
.

and north where there are signs
that the cloud is beginning to thin.

The path from Armboth follows the fence-line
up to the tree-line above.

A burst of sun brightens proceedings.

Looking north across the wide expanse of
marshy ground towards Blencathra and Clough Head.

Armboth Fell.
Behind, the Helvellyn ridge is thickly blanketed
beneath a roll of cloud

.but all is clear to the west.

High Seat.

Armboth Fell from High Tove.

Clough Head and The Dodds ridge across High
Tove's summit cairn.

Armboth Fell.

It was interesting to watch the Helvellyn
ridge slowly clearing as the bank of cloud moved slowly eastwards.

Martha - Queen of Armboth Fell.

Armboth Fell has its critics but there is
no denying that the views from the summit are worth getting ones feet wet
for!!

Armboth Fell panoramic view

Nearly clear
.

High Seat.

Heading towards Fisher Crag from Armboth
Fell there are great views northwards.

Helvellyn from Fisher Crag.

Nothing seen from the summit
.(Armboth Fell)
..can compare with the very beautiful view
of Thirlmere and Blencathra
from the fine cairn on Fisher Crag
(AW Armboth Fell 5).

Blencathra and Clough Head.

Watson's Dodd and Stybarrow Dodd - above a
group of paragliders.

The Dodds reflected

.and again.
