Route Map

Dob Gill Falls in full flow today.

Dob Gill Falls.

Harrop Tarn and Tarn Crags………………….

……………………….and again.

Just above the tree-line now looking southeast towards Dollywaggon Pike, Fairfield and Seat Sandal.

Same view…………………higher up.

Looking back along the fence-line towards a distant sunlit Blencathra.

A gloomy looking and frozen Blea Tarn.

Hetty reaches the summit of Standing Crag first.

Standing Crag – the summit.

Zooming in on Blencathra.

Blea Tarn and a glimpse of Bassenthwaite to the right.

Having made a decision to abort the planned walk to the summit of Ullscarth it just had to get brighter!!

But it wasn’t the visibility that was the problem (route-finding is easy – just follow the fence to the top) it was

the trudge through the soft show that was 3-4 feet deep in places making it very slow going – Ullscarth will be there another day.

The Helvellyn Ridge from just below the top of Standing Crag.

Who's a pretty girl?

Eyes down and look in.
