Nearing the eastern section of the Whinfell ridge and a great view northwestwards through Borrowdale opens up.
Not an alien landing but the BT telecomms tower near Whinfell Beacon looming out of the mist.
Castle Fell catches the sunlight.
The summit of Whinfell Beacon - in the distance the Coniston and Langdale Fells over the Bannisdale hills.
In the opposite direction the Howgills over Grayrigg Pike.
